Source hierarchy
- Current manufacturer instructions and specification sheets for installation limits, dimensions, and product-specific safety requirements.
- Current manufacturer product pages when a fact is not available in a public manual.
- Retailer listings only as a lead to verify elsewhere, not as the final source for consequential claims.
Evidence labels
Manufacturer spec means the statement was transcribed or conservatively summarized from the linked manufacturer source. It is not an independent verification. Hands-on tested will appear only if we have obtained and used the exact product under a documented test method. No product currently carries that label.
Comparison rules
- Compare exact models and variants, not product-family photographs.
- Show dropdown choices as separate ranges when the manufacturer sells separate kits.
- Do not publish volatile prices unless a reliable update process exists.
- Do not infer ceiling suitability from a product's published capacity.
- Record the date each source was checked and revisit high-impact pages regularly.
- Give affiliate and non-affiliate candidates the same evidence treatment.
Calculator boundary
The fit checker performs dimensional arithmetic for fixed platforms. It compares a measured vertical envelope with manufacturer-stated dropdown ranges. It does not inspect a garage, diagnose framing, select fasteners, evaluate a moving lifting path, or establish a safe load.
Corrections
Product pages and manuals change. If a linked source no longer supports a claim, send the page URL, product model, and the source that conflicts with it to contact@bjola.ca. We will check consequential corrections against a primary source before updating the site.
